    Lucy Aharish held a Sessions Event for YoungUIA, about her personal jounrye being an Arab-Israeli Women in the Mainstream Media. Lucy Aharish is a power house and an inspiration – she is an Israeli news presenter, reporter, and televisionhost. She became the first Arab to present the news on mainstream Israeli television, currently hosting a morning news show and presenting the evening edition of i24news. She was born in the Southern Israeli town of Dimona. When she was 5, she and her family were hurt in a terror attack in the Gaza Strip, when two Molotov cocktail bombs were thrown at their car.   • Hats off to our dedicated YoungUIA Volunteers

    On the 10 June The United Israel Appeal in conjunction with YoungUIA held its annual end of campaign volunteers dinner – an evening which celebrates and acknowledges the hard work and dedication of our volunteers who form the backbone of our organisation. Over 100 volunteers attended the wonderful evening. The night was MC’d by YoungUIA co-chair Carli Diamond. The keynote speaker of the night was Alan Rosenthal. Rosenthal was born in England, educated at Oxford and Stanford Universities, and currently lives in Jerusalem.     Thank you to Bank Leumi for hosting a UIA Boardroom Breakfast in March with special guest speaker Saul Singer who is best known for his contribution as the co-writer of Start-Up Nation. Singer commented that Israel as a country is essentially a start up nation and one founded on a large population of immigrants directly resulting from the valuable work that the UIA does.
